In industrial production, process is used to achieve the means and methods of quality requirements. Errors and omissions in the process may result in product failure or even scrap. The harm is caused by the unqualified product quality was not found by inspection, make the product with a problem put into use, the formation of unpredictable risks. Therefore, it is important to research and apply a scientific method to identify and prevent potential risks in the process, realize the production cost reduction and product quality improvement.As a scientific method of quality management, Failure modes and effect analysis has a powerful quality defect prevention function. In this paper, the principle and the process of FMEA are summarized. The potential failure mode and effect analysis method based on fuzzy theory is proposed. By researching the process of the real assembly process, the evaluation index of production cost is constructed, the evaluation factor set and the factor level set are designed, and the weights of the evaluation factors are determined by the analytic hierarchy process.In the process of PFMEA application, the problem of data quantity and personnel structure is complex, and the PFMEA information management system is put forward.Through the comparison of the common database, the Access database is chosen as the system development platform. First determine the design goals of the system,through the system requirements analysis, design the system using object-oriented method, and realizes the function of each module. Describes the conceptual design of the database and the establishment process of table design, query design, form design and database design report. And through the PFMEA information management system interface, a brief description of the system is carried out. Through the PFMEA information management system, can follow the PFMEA project process, to achieve the maintenance of project information and inquiries, etc.Finally, the above research is applied to the actual production of the enterprise,through the operation of the case verified the correctness and effectiveness of the research results. And to achieve the promotion of PFMEA, the development of thecompany’s internal PFMEA analysis program, and project promotion plan. Build a PFMEA based process continuous improvement platform for the enterprise.
