Research On Design Of The Dwelling Unit Of Elderly Facilities In Shanghai

Along with the increase of the aging population, our country is actively dealing with population aging, proposed that we should establish the old-age home, community support, agency Endowment to support the old-age service system. Shanghai is the first and most serious aging city of our country,the development of its policy and facilities of elderly are earlier, that is forward-looking for the design of the country’s elderly facilities.At present, Shanghai’ aging population is still increasing, the proportion of the pension needs of Shanghai institutions continue to increase, it also exposed many problems.on the one hand, Shanghai’ elderly facilities has been overcrowded according the occupancy rate, it is main due to the lack of quantity. There will be a large number of new facilities in order to meet the housing needs of the elders.It is a new challenge to the designers to innovative with the improvement of elderly facilities.on the other hand, the qualitative of Shanghai’ elderly facilities is not balance with the level of social development.Shanghai ’elderly facilities are more than 500, and only a few can be satisfied, and less can reach the international level, apparently not commensurate with the internationalization of the city. It started late in the design of domestic for nursing facilities, its level is still backward, most of the new and renovated facilities for the elderly are inseparable from the hospital. People treat aging as a static phenomenon,and neglect the aging process. Aging trend and individual demand will be new tasks for us. Therefore, based on these reasons, I began to study from the central part of the design of elderly facilities-- dwelling unit design. I chose Shanghai the most serious aging area as the research object, and investigated the residential environment and the dwelling unit design of the elderly facilities in Shanghai.The subject researched the elderly facilities dwelling unit design systematically,according to the elderly needs, the physiological and psychological characteristics of the elderly.Through the regional analysis of elderly facilities,and the research of space combination, area index, function configuration and design in detail, the main problems of dwelling unit design are found. Combined with the domestic and foreign outstanding cases, put forward for the Shanghai plan design strategy, optimize the dwelling unit and design the economic,diversification and humanization plan.Hope through this research to improve the endowment facilities construction level, pragmatic solutions to dwelling unit design, and to meet the personalized needs of the elders, improve the public’impression of elderly facilities, promote the benign interaction of pension institutions, family and elderly individuals,that has important practical significance.
