As necessary component of traffic network, highway bridges undertake important roles in civil infrastructures. Performance of the bridges not only effects transportation operation and driving safety, but also has great impact on socioeconomic benefit in the society. In recent years, with a number of large and major bridges having been built, it means that the level of our country bridge construction technology has been among the international forefront. At the same time, the focus of the bridge engineering has gradually changed from the design and construction of new bridge into the reinforcement of both new and maintenance phases. How to take account of both construction and maintenance management for existing bridges and especially new projects, keep the highway bridge in good working condition during operation and prolong its service life, is the major subject of bridge management in the recent time. However, bridge maintenance management is a complicated systematic project, our country bridge information management has been backward nowadays and cannot meet bridge maintenance rationalized, informationization and scientific requirements under the background of bridge construction rapid development. Therefore, this paper proposed the integrated information management of construction and maintenance of highway bridge, which has important significance to improve the bridge maintenance management efficiency.The integration of highway bridge construction and maintenance is a brand new management concept in bridge construction and maintenance. Based on the thorough analysis of construction and maintenance separation, loss of information and information silos and other issues during bridge construction and maintenance, this paper proposed the concept of integrated construction and maintenance, and analyzed the contents of integrated information management of construction and maintenance. The main research in the paper is as follows:First, based on information management research method, the bridge maintenance management needs is emphasized as orientation in this paper, two aspects of participants requirements and business process information demand are analyzed to achieve explicit objectives of integrated information management of construction and maintenance of highway bridge.Second, on the basis of information demand analysis, the paper analyzed the contents of information management of integrated construction and maintenance of bridge from the aspect of entity, time and user dimension. Then it proposed information management framework of integrated construction and maintenance of bridge with engineering breakdown structure(EBS) as foundation and BIM technology as the core.Third, reference to building lifecycle management(BLM) research method, information organization and management of integrated construction and maintenance of bridge is analyzed from the perspective of process management, including information process management which is the creation, management, sharing and use of information based on BLM and information flow.Last, combined with Maanshan Yangtze River Expressway Bridge project practice, this paper has constructed an overall design of maintenance management system framework based BIM technology, on the basis of analyzing the establishment of information management system and information process management, to explore the implementation of the integrated information management of construction and maintenance for Maanshan Yangtze River Expressway Bridge.With the research on integrated information management of construction and maintenance of highway bridges, this paper has enriched the practice of integrated management and engineering life cycle management theory, promoted the informationization of bridge lifecycle management, provided information support to improve the efficiency of bridge maintenance management, and guided the construction of new bridge, which has certain theoretical significance and practical application value.
