Sleep is one of the most basic life activities of human beings, and human spend about 1/3 of human’s life in sleep. Sleep is the assurance of body’s physiological regulation and life’s length, there is no life’s continuation without sleep, and sleep’s importance is self-evident. With the pressure of modern learning, work and life becoming bigger and bigger, the night’s life becoming increasingly richer, light pollution and noise pollution becoming more and more serious, the quality and time of sleep suffer a lot,and there is more than 27% of people in the world with sleep disorders. The contemporary people have enhanced the awareness of the importance of sleep, more and more people begin to pay attention to sleep, and patients with sleep disorders hope to find the cause of sleep disorders by sleep monitoring. However, the traditional sleep monitor can not achieve wearable and also can not be extended to the family as the home and personal services because of cost and volume. Considering the price, portability and other reasons, the research combines with Bluetooth 4.0 technology and develops wrist activity sleep monitor based on embedded platform.Research of the wrist activity sleep monitor is mainly divided into three steps. First, starting from the design goals, functional requirements, performance requirements and other aspects, it uses MPU-6050 acceleration sensor,STM32 MCU, CC2540 Bluetooth 4.0 chips and so on to achieve the completion of design and the function of the hardware circuit. It should make sure the designed equipment can accurately collect wrist activity signal and achieve the design purpose of small size, light weight and low power consumption; Second, at the same time of collecting wrist activity signal, it uses video to monitor sleep. Moreover, it uses the result of video monitoring of sleep as the standard of sleep state, and it also uses a soft measuring technique to find the relationship between sleep state and wrist activity information. At last, it should develop sleep analysis algorithm application applying to the sleep monitor in the research; Third, combined with the function of wrist activity sleep monitor and the perspective of human-computer interaction, it uses C# Winform to achieve the design of upper computer software.The wrist activity sleep monitor developed in this paper meets small size,light weight, low power consumption, wearable and so on. It is used in sleep monitoring, there is a high consistency with observation and monitoring of sleep by video, it shows it can achieve the purpose of monitoring the sleep indeed.
