EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) is an important factor that related to the proper functioning of electronic devices, it plays a more important role in the electronic control units, which are the centers of data and signal processing of Aero-engin. This work mainly researches on the simulation methods, key factors, and optimization techniques of the EMC design of electronic control units.By use of the ANSYS simulation software, some critical layout factors that affect the printed circuit boards (PCB) EMC performance are discussed, such as impedance control, clock position, copper, ground split, stitching capacitors, vias, etc. Then, a PCB of an electronic control unit is simulated and optimized. By comparing the simulation and test results, the effectiveness of the simulation and the improvement methods are verified.Model simplification problem of the enclosure simulation is discussed and some concrete methods that can reduce time consuming effectively without affecting the simulation accuracy are presented. Next, this work researches on the influence of some key factors in the shielding enclosure design, such as:joint type, fasteners, shielding pads, holes, PCB etc.Equipment-level simulation method is presented and a electronic control unit is simulated. According to the corresponding national military standard, the conducted emission (CE102) and radiated emission (RE102) are tested before and after the improvement of the control unit. By comparing the simulation and test results, the effectiveness of the simulation is verified, and the reasons of the simulation errors are discussed.
