Affordable housing is a major initiative to improve the urban low-income housing for needy families living conditions, Xi’an is now in rapid development stage of the construction of affordable housing. Urban rail transportation in addressing aspects of long-distance travel compared to conventional buses have significant advantages. With the continuous expansion of urban space, increasing the travel distance of urban residents, so more and more people tend to choose to live in the rail transport sphere of influence, however, the research found that the protection of existing settlements and rail transport in rarely associated with spatial distribution, at this stage rail travel for low-income people are less effective. Based on the above reasons, it led the author to the protection of settlements, combined with rail transit site layout thinking, also contributed to the research objective here.The main body of this paper is divided into six sections.
