The Protection’s Concept And Method Of German Modern Building Heritage

Modern architectural heritage is a kind of heritage, which is more and more concerned since the end of last century. Germany is the cradle of modern architectural movement, where there is a lot of modern architectural heritage resources. The modern architectural heritage protection in Germany is also forefront of the world. To improve the development of modern architectural heritage protection in China and to offer the experience for modern architectural heritage protection, I have interpreted two cases and studied the concept and modern of German modern architectural heritage protection.The two cases are both modern architectural heritages, which are in the list of World Cultural Heritage. They are Fagus Factory in Alfeld and Bauhaus building in Dessau. Firstly I have described the situation of German modern architectural heritage protection, the laws, registration system, protection agencies and management models. Then the second part is deep description of the building and using history of both modern architectural heritage, the concept and method of protection after they became the monuments of their states, the evaluation of both building when they became the world cultural heritage and the management agencies after that. Lastly, I got the conclusion of the particularity of modern architectural heritage, the comprehensive concept and method of protection, after all is the advice for modern architectural heritage protection in China.
