However, as this is inevitable, micro-small size yet comfortable accommodation with improving land using efficiency has become more and more popular in the recent years, and these design also shows a promising future.According the circumstance in China, this thesis focus on studying the design concept of small and micro size apartments with areas ranged from 30 t o 60 s quare meters. After literature of relating cases are reviewed, the thesis first conducts research based on the comparison of human body di mension, living space dimension, the relation and the arrangement of individual functional space. Next, the thesis generalized the concepts and methodology of designing micro-small apartments. At the end of the thesis, research outcome and contribution are summarized. An outlook of future micro-small apartments is presented. The purpose of this thesis is to retrospect the design concepts, market demands and social background of micro-small apartments, and to present well-tailored living intensive space design that solve problems relating China’s urbanization cases.
