Based on the summery of gradually changing of urbanhousing design theory, it presents the main studying purpose and significance. The thesisrefers that the small dwelling-size apartments is limited in space, but the composition,lighting and color design can be arranged reasonably, which is the future trend of urbanhousing design. Reasonable planning and design in decorating can also make small sizeappear large in using. The using space of small dwelling-size apartments is tight, so thedesign has to be much efficient in making use of space. It needs planning for differentareas of the house, dealing well with space reforming, decorating and furniture choosing.Designers have to make interior design harmonious in usage, arts and economy, to meetthe needs of occupants.Then the thesis analyses and compares the relative concepts of economy,environmental protection and making reasonable uses of facilities for the new period,finds out some improving points in the future development and the future developingdirection of the small dwelling-size apartment’s design.
