With the development of information technology,the detection, guidance and fire control system based on optical image is widely used in weapon system. The study of the optical properties of the target and environment is the basis for the design, simulation and operation of weapon system based on optical image.In this paper, we have studied the optical properties of typical ground targets and environment. Considering the factors affecting the optical properties of the typical target in complex environment, we finally completed a modular three-dimensional scene simulation system. Firstly, based on the theoretical research, we analyze the optical characteristics of the target under complex environment. Based on the experimental data, we establish the optical model of the target in complex environment. Then, this paper takes grassland environment as an example and studies the optical properties of the environment. Integrated with the optical properties and atmospheric effects model, an environmental image simulation model based on the digital elevation technology is created. At last, we use 3D scene rendering technology to realize the synthesis of target and background and set up the typical target and environment simulation system. Combined with the complex climate conditions, it can simulate a wide variety of landscape environment and can generate visible and infrared simulation images of different targets under complex background. This image simulation system can provide simulation image data for the future development of the detection, guidance and fire control system based on optical image.At last, we draw a conclusion of this paper and propose some opportunities in future work.
