Evolution And Feature Of The Ethnic Community Of Nanjing In Modernization Process

This thesis has taken Nanjing Hui ethnic community as the typical residential neighborhood in Chinese modernization process since its establishment, and taken Hui residents who once or now live here. Analyses and compares the evolutive mechanism of the social and spatial characters, reveals the rules of the evolution of ethnic community in modernization process. Based on the conculsion above, Summarizes the current problems, put forward several renovated strategies in perspective of cultural identity.The thesis is composed by four components:The first part is basic research, which mainly discusses the background, purpose, significance, methods, frameworks of this thesis.The second part is the overview of the evolution, which begins with modernism, ethnic community, community transition, then follows with the theoretical and evolutionally realistic background, which including the Multi-ethnic situation of Nanjing,modernization process and history, clarifies the ideas of this study after that.The third part is the empirical research, which analyses the evolutional characters of social and spatial, including demographic, family relationships, community, organization, life custom land use, living, employment and supporting facilities.The fourth part is the the discussion of problems and countermeasures, which summarizes actuality problem in basis of the empirical analysis, and initially suggests the improvement and transformation strategy in view of different levels of issues.
