Xiashu loess is a kind of special eolian deposits in the late quaternary, originating from middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River. In its development, it experienced different weathering process and recalls temperature and humidity. However, due to different geographical location and climate, its profiles have different chemical elements. In to order to clearly demonstrate the difference physical and dynamical characteristics in different areas, this essay selects typical profiles, applies antitheses in the analysis of data from different profiles and try to do research on the main chemical elements and chemical processing of earth on typical Xiashu Loess in Nanjing on the basis of the research of other scholars. Xiashu Loess , widely distributed. in Nanjing has differences in physical dynamical and geological character in different areas because of its geographical location and climate. These characters includes soil density, mineral elements, water content, liquid limit and plastic limit, liquidity index , plasticity, saturation, porosity, void ratio, compression index, consolidation, angle internal friction and soil particle proportion, which have bad effects on the process of projects. In order to avoid this , we select some typical samples in Taishan town , Tiger Hill and Yanziji, gain on the rules of its location and some related factors affecting engineering geology and provide scientific data for the founded and being founded projects. We combined research with projects, applying theory in practice on the basis of field examine and room testing analysis.This essay do research in : (1) getting samples randomly in different profiles in different areas and contrastively analyzing its profiles and marking off stratum. 2) cause of formation and evolution of Xiashu Loess and analysis of its water content, density, liquid limit, plastic limit, maximum of dry density, porosity, modulus of compressibility, compression index, shear strength, structure and penetrability 3) analysis on its dilatability and its mechanism , distribution rules and its mechanism on its projects. 4) Combing sloping projects of its location with projects in Nanjing part of NInghang highway project.Research on Xiashu loess in different areas of Nanjing can get some information on its distribution rules, its creating environment, cause and formation types, geographical characters, dilatability character, physical dynamical character, projects geological characters and sloping projects damaging mechanism. Meanwhile, it can better judge building geological conditions and provide accurate data, theory value and practical experience for finished projects and being constructed projects in its distribution area. Its information is for design and construction.
