Although after more than 40 years of development, as a common building construction equipment, builders hoist still have some defects in the structure design and use. First, the traditional builders hoist cage has high material unloading, welding requirements, and is prone to error. And there is little relevant literature about the design of the cage at home. Second, most builders hoist apply the standard section of 76mmx4.5mm which is far greater than demand construction section under 100 meters, and it consumes more material and takes more work. In view of the two aspects of disadvantages of the builders hoist, the following work has been done:1. A new type of cage is designed, and safety check is carried out. According to the technical defect of the traditional SC200 cage, the design scheme of the new type of cage is put forward. Combined with the static strength and deformation analysis of the traditional cage, material of the new cage is selected,and the preliminary design scheme of the cage is confirmed.To establish the model of topology optimization and mathematical model, the calculation of the weight of the cage node stress is introduced, using Shape Optimization module in ANSYS Workbench to realize the topology optimization of junction surface and to complete the new design of the cage, The finite element analysis of the new type of cage is conducted in the conditions of uniform load and partial load to verify its safety.2. The finite element analysis and optimization of the guide rail frame is done. Taking erection height 70 m builders hoist as an example, combined with ANSYS Workbench, the guide rail frame modeling of the builders hoist is carried out. Then check its static strength and deformation in two dangerous working conditions, finally the optimization of rail frame is realized in a more dangerous condition aimed at minimum mass, and the safety of the optimized rail frame is verified.3. The mode of builders hoist is analyzed. The six modal analysis of new cage is done, analyzing the new modal and improving the new cage design; then the modal analysis of the rail frame before and after optimization is done, comparing guide frame mode changes before and after optimization, combined with excited frequency of builders hoist to verify whether the resonance occurs or not in the working process, finally the working condition modal analysis of the builders hoist in different working mode is carried on, studying the impact of rising of single and double cage on structural system natural frequency, then use the MATLAB to fit builders hoist structural system natural frequency curve and surface.The design of a new type of cage not only reduces the difficulty of welding but also saves material on the premise of ensuring the safety of operation, and the optimized guide rail frame combined with safety and the quality is reduced by 14.1%, and the manufacturing cost of the builders hoist can be saved effectively. The study of modal analysis of builders hoist gives the point that the the first grade natural frequency of the structures system of the builders hoist reaches the minimum when the cage is at the top of the cantilever, and provides a theoretical reference and scientific basis for the design and optimization of new builders hoists.
