According to the actual application, this paper works deep in the research of image in the process of oil beam injection combined with high speed photography technology. Image processing technique is used to measure the characteristic parameters of the fuel injection process. Provide data for the study of the atomization effect of engine fuel, and it also provides a low-cost research method for universities or enterprises with limited economic capacity.In this paper, we try to use a simple image enhancement algorithm, and based on the characteristics of the oil beam image to enhance the spray image contrast and improve the algorithms; use filter function to suppress noise; extract spray area accurately and rapidly by using threshold segmentation, morphological operations and characteristics analysis of target area. Finally, the parameters of the target area are measured and the angle and penetration distance of the oil beam are calculated.Based on the mixed programming of MATLAB image processing toolbox and C#.NET form module, the software for measuring characteristic parameters of spray oil beam is designed. The software can be separated from the MATLAB running in the Windows system, reduce the use of the threshold of the software. The software can calculate the suitable threshold to segment the image and then to measure the spray cone angle and penetration distance of the beam image of the oil injection process, draw out the trend chart with time, also can choose to keep the oil beam growth chart, and the results can be saved in the form of existing file, and to provide large amounts of data for future research.Finally, compared the data by detecting the software with the artificial measurement data, the trend of data were the same, and the curves of the data were in good agreement. The results show that the measured data can be used to replace the manual measurement, which greatly improves the efficiency of the researchers.
