Currently, the problem of environmental pollution affects the human sensitive nerve, low carbon life, sustainable development has become a social consensus. With the accelerated growth of rural per capita energy consumption, the rural community as the basic unit to realize the low carbon concept, has important practical significance to reduce the pressure of energy saving and emission reduction in China. From this presents the research question of how to realize the relatively low carbonization of rural communities in the less developed regions of Northwest China. This study explores the suitable low carbon planning path of rural community, basing on the northwest less developed regions, taking village community as the research object, in order to achieve the relatively low carbonization of rural community as the goal, from the perspective of villagers’ life and production methods, basing on the regional characteristics of carbon emissions, taking the study on the suitability of low carbon path selection and the quantification of low carbon index as a research focus. The research mainly includes three aspects: the research of regional characteristics, the combination of low carbon and planning, and the research of suitable low carbon planning. Firstly, with the combing and summary of the sustainable development theory, the low carbon economic theory, the community development theory, the low carbon urban planning theory and the other basic theory, coming to an important revelaton of low-carbon rural community planning, and providing a theoretical basis for the exploration of low-carbon planning methods in rural communities; secondly, carding the development situation of rural community in Minxian, selecting the survey sample, designing the research framework, expanding the sample community investigation and carbon emission characteristics analysis from three aspects of low carbon concept investigation, carbon source, carbon sink, and summarizing the problems faced by the rural community in the process of low-carbon practice, evaluating on the feasibility of low carbon construction in rural communities comprehensively; then, expending a study on the fit of the practice of low carbon concept in rural community planning from the rural community planning framework combing, the analysis on the combination of rural community planning practice low-carbon concept, low carbon rural community planning framework combing in three aspects; finally, exploring the suitability low-carbon planning path of rural community, from the low carbon concept guidance, the low carbon planning path, the suggestion of policy system in three aspects. The main conclusions:(1)The research of relatively low carbonization of village community has important practical significance;(2) Low-carbon planning should be based on the characteristics of regional carbon emissions and respect community needs;(3)Exploring the suitable low-carbon planning path of rural community in the northwest under-developed area from low carbon industry development, low carbon layout, low carbon traffic, low carbon greenland system, low carbon energy utilization, low carbon rain and sewage treatment, low carbon sanitation facilities, low carbon residential construction;(4)Constructing the institutional guarantee mechanism of low carbon rural community from the national level of low carbon economic development oriented, low carbon and ecological environment protection, low-carbon energy technology innovation, the regional level of low carbon financing incentives, low carbon cooperation to promote, low carbon development security, the rural community level of low carbon consciousness cultivation, low carbon environmental monitoring, low carbon community participation.
