Stainless steel chemical tankers is the international shipbuilding and shipping industry recognized as one of high technology and high value-added type.Chemical tankers cargo tanks entirely of duplex stainless steel,conventional practice for replacing high strength steel with special coating and high strength steel stainless steel composite plate,has the advantages of increasing the chemical transport species and improving the corrosion resistance.But at the same time,the problem of the stainless steel surface treatment in the painting technology of the adjacent area of the liquid cargo space is also drawn.The ballast tanks of chemical tankers by adjusting the weight of the ballast water to improve the ship’s stability,in order to meet the requirement of the ship maneuverability,ballast water interface alternating wet and dry cycles accelerate corrosion coating.Internal structure of the ballast tanks is complexed,poor working conditions to regular maintenance difficult,adding to ballast tanks structure corrosion efforts.The ballast tanks of chemical tankers is mixture of high strength and stainless steel structure formed from stainless steel has a corrosive,come into contact with the high strength steel carburizing characteristics,so the ballast tanks of the chemicals tankers are more stringent than those of the other types of vessel ballast tanks.Similar on the basis of meet to the PSPC specifications research to the painting technology developed for the chemical tankers,saving the cost of production,improving the work efficiency,for domestic construction ballast tank painting for reference.In this paper,38000 DWT duplex stainless steel ballast tanks of chemical tankers as the research object, with PSPC specifications as the main line a series of research work is carried out about the ballast tanks painting technology of chemical tankers.According to the structure characteristics of the ballast tanks and the painting techniques specifications development of painting technology,put forward to various stages of stainless steel and paint protection measure.In the blasting sand and painting stage by selecting the appropriate abrasives and paint through experiment,and to determine the blasting sand and spraying parameters.The main research contents and conclusions are as follows:(1) According to the structure characteristics of the ballast tanks and the painting techniques specifications development of painting technology,to meet the requirements of the painting technology, select of the abrasive and shop primer in high strength steel pretreatment stage and determine the parameter of shot blasting and paint spraying technology.By changed shot blasting and paint spraying technology parameters before and after the high strength steel surface treatment and painting quality were analyed,put forwardimprovement measures to meet the requirement specification,according to the characteristic of stainless steel making protective measures, lay the foundation for the ballast tanks painting.(2) In the second times of blasting sand technology of the high strength steel /stainless steel ballast tanks research,to meet the requirement of roughness and cleanness,select the appropriate blasting sand equipment,select the both high strength steel and stainless steel abrasive,formulate to the requirement of blasting sand technology,assign of blasting sand technology parameters.By comparing and analyzing the surface treatment effect of ballast tanks before and after changing the technology parameters,the improvement measures are put forward to meet the requirement of the specification,and put forward to stainless steel protection measures in blasting sand stage.(3) In the painting technology of the high strength steel /stainless steel ballast tanks research,on the basis of the analysis the comprehensive properties of the paint types,select the appropriate ballast tanks paint kinds,before painting control of salt,temperature and humidity aim to meet the PSPC requirements,regulate the spraying operation,through experiment chose the appropriate spraying parameters to meet the requirements of the painting quality.Through the spraying process parameters change before and after the ballast tanks surface treatment effect of comparative analysis,achieve the purpose of saving the costs of painting production,and put forward to stainless steel and paint protection measures in block and berth painting stage.This article research results and some conclusions were obtained,for the same types and a series of ballast tanks of chemical tankers painting technology provides important parameters and guidance,in order to further improve to the work efficiency and improve to the level of the painting technology.
