Study On The Application Of PSPC In The VLCC Project

The compulsory standard Performance standard of protective coatings (PSPC) is issued and carried out by International maritime organization (IMO) to make a great impact on the country’s shipbuilding industry. The main shocks come from the imbalance between the advanced painting technical requirement and relatively backward of construction technical and workmanship.This thesis will take320000tons project Dalian shipbuilding industry as a example, introduce the new standard of PSPC for the requirements of ship construction, focus on analysis of existing ship assembly problems. Through the analysis and research on project management and project quality management system, according to the project management requirement, it will control the whole project construction quality on a ship. It can also analysis and conform the key and difficult point of the assembly quality control, establish assembly quality management plan, form a series of technical documents. In the end, according to the planning program, a mock test is took in the application of PSPC and is summarized to make sure the specific direction for the future research work.In this thesis, the analysis of the influence factors, the anatomy of the difficulties and the corresponding quality control method in the implementation of PSPC in the project of the construction of the large ships, all of them have common significance to the shipbuilding. And the PSPC quality management plan which proposed according to the project management principles could be guided for the ship construction.
