Collision accidents between car and two-wheeler such as electric bicycles and motorcycles account for more than 1/4 of the total road traffic accidents in China, which cause tremendous casualties and property loss. So it has important theoretical value and practical meaning to have research on the collision accidents and necessary preventive measures. The most important work in the analysis and the survey to the accidents between car and two-wheeler is to identify the collision speed correctly when the accident happened and reconstruct the accident accurately. The scientific theories and approaches are the basis of the above work.Firstly, the research status and developing trend of collision accidents between car and two-wheeler at home and abroad are summarized, finding that using the traditional theoretical models and methods to calculate the collision speed has uncertainty, and computer simulation is widely used in the current research. The causes, characteristics, types and process of the collision accidents between car and two-wheeler are presented respectively. Then, the basic principle, collision hypothesis and common analysis methods to the collision speed identification are summarized. Type of former-side collision accidents is common in this research according to the common classification of collision accidents between car and two-wheeler. The model of sliding imprinting-collision speed between car and two-wheeler and the model of throwing distance-collision speed between ride man and two-wheeler are built based on the kinematic formulas, momentum conservation and momentum theorem. Evaluation for these two models is launched using the uncertainty theory to improve the accuracy of collision speed identification.Finally, two actual cases of car and electric bicycle/car and motorcycle, are provided to calculate the collision speeds using the two models built in this research and estimate the optimum range of collision speed using the evaluation of the uncertainty theory.At last, the built models and evaluation of uncertainty theory were proved to be reliable and effective through the numerical simulation with MATLAB, PC-Crash and MADYMO software. It will provide traffic management department with scientific basis and tools to deal with and analyze the collision accidents between car and two-wheeler.
