Application Of Vernacular Landscape Elements In City Park

With the rapid development of urbanization, there are some problems in the urban landscape construction. As for the city park, these problems are lacking regional characteristics, making ecological environment out of balance and the like. By visiting the city park, citizens can pursue the feeling of touching the nature and acquire a sense of belonging, but this function is gradually weakening. Therefore, the landscape of the city park urgently needs to search for some new design elements and expression. Besides, the native landscape can record local people’s life, which is an important carrier of historical context, regional characteristics and the spirit of place. This paper, by regarding the city park as an insertion point, refines and explores the value of the native landscape, investigates the way of using the elements of the native landscape in the city park, and designs a kind of urban park landscape which has the ability to emphasize regional culture and ecological environment and shows the cultural values of local places as well as regional spirits.This paper elaborates the causes of the rapid development of the urban park and puts forward the contradiction between the rapid development of the urban landscape construction and people’s requirements for the ecological environments. Furthermore, the author elaborates the research level and the developments of the theory of the city park’s native elements at home and abroad.The author analyzes and concludes the outer characteristics and intrinsic attributes. Then, the elements of the native landscape can be categorized into three types by its various patterns and attributes. On the basis of the above theories, the author analyzes the characteristics of the native landscape and finds that the elements of the native landscape has such functional values in the city park as saving the building costs, possessing regional characteristics and so on。It not only discusses the great development and examples application of the native landscape in the city park in China, but also analyzes the most representative case of it, summarizes its merits and demerits and provides a good example for the construction of the city park in nowadays.On the basis of the above contents, the paper puts forward the designed principles and constructive characteristics in the native landscape of the City Park and details designs and expressive ways of countryside in the city park.In the latter part, the paper combines the case of Zhao wang River Garden in Heze, Shandong province, uses the theories above and at last sums up the whole paper, giving the creative points, shortcomings and expectations on the direction.Combing thoroughly the resources and elements of the native landscape, it reaches the approach and design in using the elements of the native landscape in the city park.
