Study On The Renovation Of City Parks In Hefei Based On Post Occupancy Evaluation (POE)

Rapid ecnomic growth promotes the changes of social and urban layout. Under this background, city renovation has been an irresistable trend. Parks, which are the important part of a city, also cry for renovation urgently. The essence of city parks design originates from people and serves for people, therefore its renovation and reform should based on people, which means conductiong research on the renovation strategy of city parks from the perspective of people. So study on renovation of city parks based on the psychological feelings and behavior patern of the occupants constitutes an important part of the construction of livable cities.This paper aims to describe the current occupancy status of three major parks in Hefei city and the psychological expectation of their occupants by taking post occupancy evaluation as the major theoretical foundation and technical method and by combining the qualitative research method with the quantitative method. This study chooses Likert scale qustionaire which is an easier method to achieve quantization, compares the collected data horizontally and vertically by chi-square test, variance analysis, mean analysis and factor analysis and obtains the behavior and psychological preference of occupants by digging the independence, correlation and integration hidden by data. Meanwhile, this paper analyses the current occupancy status by some qualitative research methods such as participant observation and open questionaire, which suppliments some emotional factors that ignored by quantitative research method. At last, This paper summerizes the problems that city parks in Hefei confronting under the background of the progress of the times and the renovation of the cities and categorizes the problems into internal contradictions and external contradictions. It also comes up with strategies for the renovation of city parks such as promoting management systems and keeping the balance of the payment, inheriting historical spirit, carrying forward the theme of the culture, optimizing space environment and statisfying diversed demand, improving the infrastructure and highlighting the feature of the scenic spots, and strengthening personnel grading and promoting service, which provides a brandnew perspective and way of thinking for the study of the sustainable development of city parks in Hefei and supplies the departments of planning and administration with data support and reference.
