Micro-power wireless communication is a local communication method for user information collection system, with low cost, high reliability, high communication speed, etc.. However, in real-world applications, there are problems of wireless communication channel susceptible noise interference and path loss. In order to solve the above shortcomings, this study proposes the micro-power wireless communication indicators, including RF performance, micro-power wireless communication protocol and network performance indicators. Such micro-power wireless communication systems for detecting interoperability test indicators in domestic is limited.This paper firstly describes the micro-power wireless communication applications in information collection system, and then analyzes the radio channel characteristics to estimate the micro-power wireless communication loss model in the working environment. Secondly, micro-power wireless communications interoperability testing system is designed, including hardware components, software components and virtual instrument technology. In hardware section, the composition of the instrument connection is designed. In the software part, the process and framework is designed. By the use of virtual instrument technology through software configuration parameters, together with hardware for measurement tests, the experimental results are stored and exported. Interoperability test system consists of RF performance test systems, protocol conformance test system and network meter reading performance test system components. Each part of the test system includes test indicators, system hardware and software design. The testing program of three test systems are developed, followed by experimental verification in accordance with the test program. In this way, not only the feasibility of interoperability is verified, but also the comprehensive of the test system is validated. RJF performance test system mainly tests the merits of the emission performance and receive performance components. Emission performance tests mainly compose of carrier power output, digital offset and spurious emission limits tests. Received performance tests mainly compose of receiver sensitivity test, acceptable center frequency offset tests. Protocol standard communications conformance tests between the layers, including the physical layer, MAC layer, network layer and application layer protocol frame. Network performance tests networking capabilities and meter reading success rate. The merits of networking capability is the key to the interoperability of communications. Finally, the test program has been developed based on the experimental use of test systems, to test verification of the interconnection system.On the basis of the network performance test systems, the networking capability assessment algorithm is developed, including the depth assessment of the relay route, the route convergence speed assessment and communication delay evaluation. In summary, this paper completed the study and application of micro-power wireless communications interoperability testing systems to meet the systematic, professional testing requirements from the theoretical and practical design angles.
