The speed increasing gearbox is one of the most important components of the wind turbine, which has a great impact on the whole gearbox. On the other side, under the condition of bad working environment, both the external load and the internal load will lead to vibration and noise. The harm is mainly caused by the dynamic characteristics of the 2.5MW wind turbine gear transmission system.This paper is focused on the dynamic performance of the transmission system of 2.5MW wind turbine in one company. At first, the random wind model was built, based on the two parameters Weibull distribution, then cut out the part which include the maximum and minimum input torque and rotate within 10s as the external excitation from the input torque and rotate curve. Considering the internal factors such as varying meshing stiffness, meshing error and damping, the dynamic model of 2.5MW wind turbine gear transmission system was built, then got the intrinsic frequency and the model of vibration, and analyzed the key component which was easily resulted in resonance. Finally calculated the dynamic responses and mesh force of all the key components, then analyzed the dynamic characteristics under the influence of internal and external excitation. Based on the research, investigated the influence of external excitation on the dynamic characteristics of all the key components, and analyzed the influence of internal excitation on the dynamic responses of all the gears in the gear transmission system.This paper has offered a foundation of analyzing the the dynamic characteristics, optimization design, fault diagnosis and prospective maintenance of the gear transmission system of 2.5MW wind turbine.
