As the energy and environmental problems are increasingly severe, wind energy as a kind of clean and renewable energy has attracted more and more attention and the wind power technology has developed quickly. The gear transmission system is one of the key components of wind generator; and its main function is to increase the speed of generator. So the performance of the transmission system has a direct influence on the wind power system. Because the special environment of varying load caused by wind speed changing and high erection, etc, the gearbox is hard to maintenance. In such cases, stability and reliability of the gearbox is the most critical requirements. Therefore, it is important to study the dynamic characteristics of the gear transmission system under the condition of varying wind load.The objective of this paper is to study the dynamic performance of the transmission system of 1.5MW wind generator under the condition of varying wind load. The structure of the transmission system is composed of one stage of planetary gear and two stages of parallel shaft spur gear. Concrete research work is as follows:â‘ External excitation of the gear transmission system is researched. The Auto- Regressive (AR) method based on numerical simulation is used to simulate the natural wind. Then the External excitation of the gear transmission system is obtained according to the result of the AR wind model.â‘¡A lumped-parameter method is used to build the pure torsional dynamic model, in which varying meshing stiffness, meshing error and damping are included. The natural frequencies and corresponding mode shapes of the transmission system are calculated based on the theory of dynamic.â‘¢The dynamic characteristics of the system based on varying external excitations is analyzed, in which the average meshing stiffness is used to replace the varying stiffness and the meshing error is neglected. Then the dynamic responses of the transmission system such as vibration displacement and meshing force of each pair of gear are investigated.â‘£The varying meshing stiffness and meshing error are analyzed, and the internal excitation caused by them is investigated. Then the dynamic responses of the transmission system such as vibration displacement and dynamic meshing force of each pair of gear are investigated based on varying internal and external excitations, also the dynamic responses in frequency domain are analyzed.The research work of this paper has provided some theoretical references for the engineering design of the gear transmission system under varying wind load conditions, and laid the foundation for the industry application.
