The Research On Performance-Oriented Design Of Cultural Architecture In The Cold Area

As ecological environment problems have become increasingly prominent, China has begun to strongly advocate the construction of green buildings. At first it begins with public buildings of high energy consumption. However the design of our green buildings still in the primary stage which lacks sound methods. In order to achieve "green building evaluation standards", green buildings are added in the construction scheme which is determined, thus lacking the effective means to develop energy conservation in initiative ways. According to the research, the phase of the design and decisions making for the whole building energy consumption plays a decisive role. Therefore, this thesis mainly illustrates the performance of green designs based on the cultural constructions of cold regions which acts as the research condition, while beginning with the building environmental performanceThe thesis starts from the performance objectives and establishes the two factors of performance which are climatic environmental characteristics and environmental requirements. First, making the analysis of the climate characteristics of cold regions and extracting the appropriate ecological strategies and technologies. Second, combining with the green building evaluation system of cultural analysis and architecture performance requirements. Third, building cold regions’cultural buildings performance objectives. At the same time, according to the contents of performance goals, establishing three typical cultural buildings types:libraries, cultural centers and museums.After establishing performance goals, architectural design will be presented according to the performance goals. The design is closely combined with the process of architecture designing procedures, and studying from the site designs, function of architecture, space designs, indoor environmental designs and detailed designs. The study focuses on the influential factors of environmental architecture in cold regions:heat preservation, heating, natural lighting and glares, ventilation and wind prevention, temperature and humidity. In design strategies, the paper mainly emphasizes the different stages of designs about cold regions, which cannot be added in the process of designing that illustrates in passive ways.Finally in order to examining the designing strategies and projects, takes Mengzhou building designs of cultural center into consideration and analyses the climate data of local areas. Making the conclusions of the appropriate strategies and methods according to the environmental characteristics of libraries, museums and cultural centers, and establishes performance goals of the design. Next designs projects based on the targeted performance objectives. Checking from the aspects of regional designs, building functions, space designs, indoor environmental designs and detailed designs while making the green designs.
