In the 21st century, the construction of circular economy, protect the earth’s environment resources, realize sustainable development has become a topic of common concern around the world. Remanufacturing is very valuable to be researched as an important technology of circular economy development model. Aiming at the uncertainties of remanufacturing blanks and the bottleneck of traditional passive remanufacturing technology is difficult to overcome, the concept of proactive remanufacturing time matching is put forward in this paper. Parts on determination of proactive remanufacturing timing, specific active remanufacturing time matching methods, and proactive remanufacturing optimal design method based on time matching are emphatically researched.Firstly, the concept of proactive remanufacturing is explained through analysis on product service properties, and the objectivity of proactive remanufacturing timing is confirmed. Considering with the strength curve in "design, service and remanufacture" phases, and based on residual strength, the calculation method of residual strength factor is presented. According to remanufacturing residual strength factor requirements, parts proactive remanufacturing time is obtained. Then, the specific proactive remanufacturing time matching methods are established through analysis the relationship between the parts in the product. Selecting critical parts as object, based on QFD method, the important degree of critical parts is obtained as the benchmark. According to the size differ with the timing benchmark, equal or multiples matching can be selected. Finally, in order to realized the proactive remanufacturing timing equal or multiples relationship, proactive remanufacturing optimal design method is established. The mapping model is established with design parameters for the independent variables and service properties as the dependent variables, bythe service propertiesof the demand into the model, the corresponding design parameters will be got, active control of proactive remanufacturing timing is realized.With 6L240 model four cylinder diesel engine connecting rod and crankshaft as an example, the above research are verified. Connecting rod and crankshaft proactive remanufacturing timing are obtained, the mapping relationship between connecting rod thickness and small end corner radiuses with fatigue life are established. By optimized the initial design parameters of connecting rod, the double time matching on the basis of the crankshaft proactive remanufacturing timing is realized.
