Impact Analysis Of Physical Consumption Behavior On Pedestrian Street Environmental Design

Outside commercial walking street which reflects the prosperity of a city is an important part of a city because it is essential for people to enjoy daily entertainment. With the development of cities, the controversy between the current environment of outside commercial walking street and the demands of people is increasing due to the fact that the improvement of such street is hindered and the needs of people cannot be satisfied, all of which including the assimilation in the design of the outside commercial walking street and the negative impact on the physical stores brought by electronic business. However, the development of city and the requirement of real consuming space from consumers require the design of outside commercial walking street to be more reasonable, profitable and qualified to satisfy the material and mental demands of consumers.This dissertation is based on the consuming theory introducing the consuming behavior, consuming category, consuming strategy and the consuming psychology during the consuming process in the walking street. It also discuss the the interaction between the way of shopping in stores and the design of outside commercial walking street. Based on three practical cases about outside commercial walking street in Hefei city, it analyzes the the relation factors in the design of its environment and compare the satisfaction differences among those different cases in oder to deduce the real factors which will influence the consumer behavior. In addition, this dissertation will obey commercial rules and people-oriented design to suggest some possible measures to improve the surroundings outside the walking street. Finally, this dissertation will follow the axis-principle to redesign the outside commercial walking street in ChengHuang Temple in Hefei and reassemble the commercial distribution in order to improve the quality of that walking street. This dissertation is aiming to provide better and reasonable design scheme toward outside commercial walking street improving the environment of walking street and increasing the social benefits.
