Interactivity is a very obvious feature different from the smart grid to the traditional grid. The smart grid uses the demand response project and both-way communication function, with the policies of electricity price and encouragement, to lead consumers to change their electricity-using ways, which can make consumers transform from passively accepting to actively joining in the power market. This is a major change taken by the smart grid for the electricity mode. The base of response is to catch more electricity information, so a system with information collecting and transmitting functions is the key to improve the response ability of the grid. The paper takes the requirement of smart grid put above as research direction. So at first, the paper put forward the important role that the distribution network AMI played in solving the problem of realizing the interactivity of smart grid. Actually, the difficulty of realizing the interactivity of smart grid is how to make consumers actively take part in the power market. The part of grid connected with consumers is the distribution network, so the collecting system in distribution network is the main factor to decide the participation of consumers. Then, the paper mentions something about information collection and data analysis. The distribution network AMI can collect lots of electricity information, but different consumers have different response degree to those kinds of information. Therefore, the classification of consumers and information can help the grid formulate the proper strategy for each kind of consumers which can make the benefits of both consumers and grid maximize.Last but not least, the paper put forward some response strategies, and analyzes them from the perspective of different types of users. These strategies contain the one only based on the peak valley price, the one fixed the peak valley price and distributed generation as well as the one considering the power factor. Therefore, the paper builds a benefit model and takes the economy as the reference to evaluate the difference of each strategy. Through the theoretical and computational analysis, we can know that the common consumers can get the largest benefit with the strategy fixed the peak valley price and distributed generation, while large electricity users can do better to their own production and grid’s stability after considering the power factor.
