The sales quantity in 2015 is over 24.5 million, with 4.7% increase comparison with that of last year. With the rapid development in automobile industry, OEM car makers and component manufacturers not only have great deal of opportunity but face significant challenges where OEMs require higher requirement on cost, delivery and quality to component manufacturers. In the circumstance of supply chain globalization and automobile parts requiring more systematization, management becomes significant important when project need complex of team involvement and technology. The competitiveness will be not only in product development techniques but somehow in management of the company. Project management acts as a important role to win in such fierce competition of automobile market as well as shorten lead time of product development, control cost and with high quality. Every industry and company should find out a management process fitting with its own business during the way to seeking for development. For instance, Industry and consumer company like IBM and Huawei have made great success by making application of IPD(Integrated Product Development).whereas,APQP(Advanced Product Quality Planning)also have been widely used with good accomplishment in automobile industry.APQP is a process developed by US big three car maker GM,Ford,Chlysler in 1980s and have gotten postive reaction to widely application.afterwards.APQP is a project management method for product development and widely introduced and implemented in automobile industry, which provide structured and systematical guidline and goverance on cost management,quality management and time control in each phase of project. APQP is the one of Five tools of TS16949.The Paper study is focusing on APQP application for motor development at D company.By viewing the development history of D company,we know there is two product divisions,one is Industry Motor Division, another is Auto Motor Division. The later Division is late established as the former one.for project management, D company experienced the transition and exploration from originaled project management used in Industry Motor Division to APQP used in Auto Motor Division for automotive products. Eventually, Auto Motor Division worked out APQP project management procedure which fitting with automobile motor product as well as requirement of automotive industry. The study analyzes the status and problems when automobile motor product using project management procedure of industry motor. Then turn to study on application APQP project management aiming to solve the problems as prviously mentioned.Taking APQP project management as a tool for product development as well as making use of other Five tools, PMI project management system as a guidline to monitor all objective of each phase of project.and make project management study for whole process from project iniation stage like customer requirement analysis and project planning, product development and sample making, product and process verification and validation, customer approve and mass production. In the thesis, from point of view of high level project management, will make study on how should we do to ensure project is under control in each phase of project iniation, planning, implemention,monitor and closing where make emphasis on critical objectives of projects, which are presented in details during APQP project management study. From perspective on project detail management as well as comparatively high requirement on quality in automobile industry, APQP make direction and framwork for internal team and sub-supplier to follow APQP procedure for project completion with specific input and output.I hope can bring some good reference and inspiration to auotmoive component company from the thesis study. The creteria of how project management of a automotive component company is normally customer satisfacation and improvement on business and profit of the company. The turth is not only that D company have had regonization and favrite from world leading Tierl suppliers like Bosch,Delphi, Valeo,etc.but also made significant acheivement on turnover and profit in automotive business which contribution is over 60%. We can say the application APQP process on project management at D company is successful case. The study provide not only positive impact on the improvement for project management at D company,but also can bring good reference and inspiration to automotive motor and even automotive component company. |
