This paper analyzes the important significance of the partial discharge detection of XLPE cable and the development status of XLPE cable PD detection technology at present. Through the XLPE cable partial discharge pulse by using the method of setting artificial defect test, Typical partial discharge pulse current waveform, the amplitude frequency characteristics of PD pulse and the frequency spectrum characteristics of pulse attenuation along the cable are analyzed.Through the analysis of the sensor model parameters and the frequency characteristics of different high-frequency magnetic core material, we select the nickel zinc ferrite cores to design the sensor, and test the dynamic characteristics, static characteristics, step-wave response and impulse response of the sensor.Research the typical defects in XLPE Cable Partial Discharge and Nanosecond pulse discharge current detection by using the broadband Rogowski coil. The sensitivity of the sensor was higher than the IEC60270 method. The main design scheme of the photoelectric detection system is constructed, and the specific design methods of different modules are discussed. There is a strong correlation between different modules, but the photoelectric converter is the key part of the whole system. The design of the related modules is based on the photoelectric converter, and finally designs a photoelectric detection system with strong reliability and wide bandwidth.Through analyzing the frequency response characteristics of self-integrating Rogowski coil, the method of using the specific mode to complete the expansion of the coil frequency band is proposed, And the material, the winding and the integral resistance which can be used for the realization of this idea are introduced in detail, which makes the design of the coil system can not only guarantee a wide bandwidth, but also keep sufficient sensitivity. At last, the coil of the design was carried out on the actual test.
