Cross-linked Polyethene (XLPE) power cable is widely used in power system now. To ensure its safety and reliability, it is necessary to carry out the partial discharge (PD) on-line monitoring technology for XLPE cable to find out and handle the insulation defect.Unlike other monitoring system, this dissertation researched especially on reliability which was realized by auto-recovery design,and remote monitoring which was realized by remote transmission of characteristic parameters.The thesis mainly studied on the design and realization of PD on-line monitoring software system for XLPE cable. To realize the real-time monitoring and remote diagnosis, the software system was designed to two parts. One was the front-end control system, which was introduced through data acquisition, data processing and system reliability design. The other was remote monitoring system, which was related to the remote transmission, database interaction as well as evaluation and diagnosis. This PD on-line monitoring software system for XLPE cable was proved to work effectively and practically by PD detection experiment.A summary was given at the end of the thesis,and further work to the research was also pointed out.
