| Huizhou is a famous historical and cultural city of Lingnan, and West Lake has an important position in its urban cultural context and landscape pattern. With the help of historical archive analysis and field research, this essay analyses the urban and landscape pattern historical process of Huizhou West Lake base on the understanding of traditional landscape culture and modern "Shanshui city" theory, hopefully to explore a viable method for Huizhou West Lake’s better future development with the perspective of landscape pattern.The essay consists of four parts and includes six chapters. The first two chapters are the first part, which summarize related theory to the essay. The first chapter theoretically introduced the background of the research and present status of the relevant research. The second chapter summarizes relevant theory of the landscape pattern, including traditional cultural landscape, the modern "Shanshui city" theory, urban landscape pattern, and comes up with a set for the urban landscape structure and morphology of the classification system.Chapters III and IV are the second part, which summarize Huizhou and Huizhou West Lake’s landscape pattern and relevant culture with the perspective of development, in order to find out the interaction between Huizhou city and Huizhou West Lake so as to explore the inner pattern of their development, and end with the analysis of the present unsettled issue of Huizhou West Lake’s development. Chapter V is the third part, which introduces a landscape pattern and lakeside spatial structure improving strategy of multiple perspectives with the guide of traditional landscape building theory and modern "Shanshui city" theory. And chapter VI is the last part of the essay, which summarize the whole essay and states the perspective of Huizhou West Lake under the guide of the above landscape pattern planning.With the practice of Huizhou West Lake, this essay hopefully provides a valuable reference for our future construction and development of "Shanshui cities" and urban landscape pattern, as part of "Shanshui city" theory. |
