| The project is located in the central district of Taihu new City in Wuxi. Land area is about 11.6 hectares, of which the Children’s palace occupies about 3 hectares. Square land is in the north of our site, and Shangxian river wetland is in the west, while Sculpture Park is in the south. The total construction area of the project is early 40,000 square meters.Project design began in the second half of 2013,the related institution proposed function requirements.Three well-known design company involved in the bidding, AZL is qualified for the project design. During the next year, the construction program kept modifying. In September 2015, preliminary design is finished. I join the group of AZL architects in March 2014,and I participate in this project.I am responsible for the design of facades and the public space. I get a lot of help from my Mentor and associated architects. The project is currently under construction, and it is expected to be put into use by the end of 2016.The paper is the reflection and summary of the entire project,and it’s divided into five parts.The first chapter is a brief introduction of the Project,which tells the basic situation of the project including the background, master plan and the request of the task. And the second chapter is architecture design. In this part,I deepen the design based on the concept design,and mainly do the work on the design of facades. The next chapter,that is the third chapter, is the design research.I need to study excellent cases which provide the basis for the practice of public space design. The fourth chapter is public space design, which present the design for corridors, courtyards, hall and staircase from the angle of function, space,scale and structure. The fifth chapter shows all the design drawings.The Significance of the project is to learn the design methods for this kind of Culture Architecture and to study the design method of the public space which take the physical and psychological characteristics of children into consideration. what’s more, It helps us understand Engineering and technical knowledge of materials used in interior design. In a word, the project has a certain reference value on the design of Children’s Palace. |
