Optimal Strategy On The Model Of Land Development In The Design Of Urban Cemetery

Land is the material base for human life. Yet, the shortage of cultivated land is an unavoidable problem and the land of cemetery as special utility of urban land face the unbalance between the demand and supply in term of land under the background of rapid urbanization and aging. Since the development of urban cemetery is on the process of grope, there are various problems occurred in the development. The structural shortage of cemetery and environmental issue due to irrational exploration, arouse the intensive attention from the whole society. Especially, this issue is heatedly discussed during National People’s Congress (NPC) and Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC). Hence, giving responds to the appeal from Ministry of Civil Affairs, this paper investigated the contradiction between human being and land and the sustainable development of exploration of urban cemetery. Combining with special culture of Chinese funeral and interment, the model can meet the demand and simultaneously utilize the cemetery.Based on the exploration of cemetery land, this paper studied the issue of sustainable development of cemetery land by using literature summary and field research. Firstly, the objective and scope of research are defined and then problems of various kinds in terms of cemetery land in exploration, the waste of building and shortage of systematic distribution are investigated. Based on the theory of sustainable development, with the guide of the theory of land consolidation and landscape design, the system of land utilization is established and policy implication in terms of the way of land development is given. Additionally, the case study with Beijing is given.Based on the current situation of urban cemetery exploration in Beijing, the optimal strategy is given to investigate the land development of urban cemetery. From the location and measurement, the corresponding distribution form in Beijing is given with consideration of location, demand, and commuting costs. Specifically, it is suggested that the fence of cemetery can firstly be dismantled in the suburban. The strategy that the resource can be integrated to build cemeteries with large scale is advocated in the outskirt. Simultaneously, the public cemeteries can be replaced by small cemeteries in the boundaries of counties. To reach the optimal relocation of resource and rational develop, the system from macro to micro level is established.
