Steel structure residence has some advantages, such as light weight, high strength, excellent seismic performance, rapid construction, high rate of space utilization and sustainable use. With the increasingly mature technology in production, design and installation for steel structure residence across the country, developing steel structure systems of high-rise residential buildings, which have broad application prospects, have become a new proposition in the process of residence industrialization.In this paper, an 18-storey steel structure public rental housing was taken as the research object. Seismic performance analysis, wind load and comfort analysis of three high-rise steel structure systems were conducted to provide basis for structure selection. The main research contents included:(1) The 3-D finite element models of the three structure systems, including steel frame-brace, composite shear wall of double steel plates and concrete, grid steel frame-brace were created by the STS steel structure design software. The dynamic characteristic analysis was conducted to discuss the relationship between the modal participation factors and structural reactions by the SATWE general analysis software. Quality participation coefficients were taken to analyze the influence of the higher modes on the structure.(2) The response spectrum analysis of each structure system was conducted. The internal force, deformation and torsion property of the three structure systems under frequent earthquake were discussed. And the results of response spectrum analysis were compared with the criterion restrictions one by one.(3) Elastic and elastic-plastic time-history analysis were conducted by the YJK software. The internal force and deformation of each structure system under frequent earthquake were discussed, and the results of elastic time-history analysis and response spectrum analysis were compared. The seismic performance of each structure system under frequent and seldom earthquake were discussed.(4) Wind load and comfort analysis were conducted. The performance indexes under wind load and the comfort level whether satisfy the standard requirements were discussed.The results showed that:the seismic performance indexes satisfied the demand of the three level of 7 degree anti-earthquake, the performance indexes under wind load and the comfort level also met the standard requirements. But the three structure systems had their own features in terms of living comfort, design maturity, construction convenience and economic benefits. When designing the structure, we should grasp the structure system as a whole according to the need of the practical engineering.
