Since the reform and opening up, China has experienced rapid development of nearly 40 years. There are more and more cars in cities year by year, which is accompanied by the problem of hard and expensive parking. The parking difficulty directly leads drivers to look for parking lots on the road by themselves. Consequently, it has naturally brought the problem of traffic jam. Therefore, it is quite urgent to study a smarter system to manage all parking lots, further to improve the parking efficiency.On the basis of RFID technology, ZigBee technology, fingerprint identification technology and mobile communication technology, this paper studies and designs one smart parking system facing the overall city. First of all, it introduces the RFID technology and mobile communication technology, analyzes and selects the advantages of ZigBee technology and fingerprint identification technology, and also analyzes all equipment of ZigBee network and functions; next, it makes an overall design of the system. On the basis of the overall design, it makes overall planning and design of the indoor parking system and outdoor parking system respectively. Then, it introduces the Chip CC2530 used in the urban smart parking system, and also design the hardware of indoors and outdoors parking lot detecting unit, inlet and outlet unit of indoor parking lot, induction unit and aggregation node of outdoor parking lot. Meanwhile, it improves the routing algorithm applied by the indoor parking lot. Finally, on the basis of Z-STACK, it designs the underlying terminal node, routing node and aggregation node, and also designs the uppermost data of background data center.Compared to the existing system, this system attaches more importance to the intelligence of parking lot and the improvement of the entire city’s parking efficiency. If the system can be applied in future, it will greatly ease the parking difficulty and make the city life better.
