In recent years, countries around the world pay more and more attention to the high speed railway, and our country followed the footsteps of the world and implemented the thought of introduction, digestion, absorption and re-innovation to make high-speed railway have got rapid development. High-speed train bogie is one of the core components in the train, but current design method is still that designers select the most similar to the bogie with the designing task from the existing bogie instance in accordance with design tasks and their own experiences, and then make local modification and optimization to obtain new bogie instance on the basis. However, this kind of design method is strongly relying on designers’own experience, the design results of different designers may be different, and designers’own experiences can’t get effective management and heritage. As a result, the reuse rate of design resources is not high, the design efficiency of bogie still needs to be improved. Therefore, this paper applies the method of configuration design and variant design in the design of bogie, and develops the rapid design system of the bogie.The main research contents of this paper are as follows:(1) Analyzes the composition of bogie and module partition, on base of mature bogie module partition results, it comes to the conclusion that the rapid design of bogie can be realized by the configuration design and variant design of bogie’s each module.(2) The concept of complex parameter network is imported to the rapid design of bogie, and by analyzing the design process of bogie, the method of establishing the network of bogie parameters is presented. The bogie’s design process which is driven by performance is studied based on the parameter network.(3) The establishment of the model of the bogie multi-level configuration, to provide theoretical basis for the performance parameters of the bogie frame by layer configuration design. The configuration rule and the similarity algorithm are combined in the process of retrieval example, and the configuration model is solved by the method of the combination of configuration rules and case based reasoning. In the variant design stage, the associated design technique is introduced, the multi-level skeleton model is established, through the associated relationship between the different levels of the skeleton, design changes from the top to the bottom spread accurately. The relationship between configuration parameters and design parameters is found through parameter network, and the variant design of configuration parameter driven is realized.(4) Based on the above theory and method, VS2008 as development tools, provided by CAA API function library of CATIA are secondary development developed high-speed train bogie rapid design system. The bogie parameters, the relationship between the parameters and rapid design process are managed by the basic data management subsystem, configuration design subsystem and variant design subsystem.
