| At present, the accelerated process of urbanization makes the social and economic linkages close more and more between city and city within a region, which stimulates the travel demand of inter-city. Construction and operation of intercity railway solves the travel problems in inter-city passengers to some extent. However, as a new mode of transportation, the entry of intercity railway makes the competition in intercity passenger market of short distance become more intense. Developing a more reasonable ticket price is a key for intercity railway operators to attractting passengers and gaining the competitive advantage. Therefore, this paper chooses market segmentation strategy considering type of passenger’s travel demand and competitive pricing strategy considering competition between transportation mode as the basis of price strategy, studies dynamic gaming pricing method for intercity railway under background of competition, strives to provide new ideas for pricing problem of intercity railway.First, start from the price systems of foreign countries where railway transport develops well, analyze its success, and combine pricing situation of railway passenger transport in our country, identify the problems, and determine the direction of price optimization. While do necessity analysis of dynamic pricing for intercity railway, propose the combination pricing strategy of intercity railway which contains market segmentation strategy and competitive pricing strategy based on summarizing the traditional pricing strategy.Then study market segmentation for intercity railway. First, investigate the intercity railway passenger market in the form of questionnaires. After doing statistics, divide the intercity railway passenger market by means of cluster analysis, and do summary description for general characteristics of each divided passenger travel sub-markets. So can lay the foundation for pricing research later.On the basis of market segmentation strategy, first analyze intercity railway’s main competitor in the short-distance transport corridor—long distance bus, then based on competition game relationship between intercity railway and long distance bus, with the goal of maximizing transportation revenue both and minimizing passenger’s generalized travel costs, establish the dynamic game pricing model of intercity railway and long distance bus, and design heuristic algorithm based on sensitivity analysis to solve the pricing model.Finally, take Guangzhou-Shenzhen intercity railway for example, contact market segmentation results, find the best price of intercity railway at different stages, so verify the feasibility of the theory in this paper. |
