In recent years, serious urban waterlogging has become a frequent of rainstorms in Hangzhou. In residential districts, such a result is seriously affecting outdoor spaces and everyday life. By contrast, emphasis on residential landscape construction is increasing, typified by the increasing investment in water feature in outdoor spaces. The integration of residential water utilization and landscape designcan be a solution. This thesiscombs the natural conditions and history of rainwater utilization in Hangzhou, outlines the regional features that influence rainwater utilization in Hangzhou. Based on these analysis, the thesis studied the existing models of water utilization in 14residential districts and summarized them into four:direct emissions, "collection-utilization ", "collection-purification-utilization", "purification-collection-penetration-purification t-utilization", finds three key problemsexisting between the geographical features of rainwater utilization and the current rainwater utilization in Hangzhou. The first is ignoring the rain infiltration, focusing on the terminal to collect. The second is the chain of rainwater runoff is short, correlation of technical measures is weak. The third is rainwater collection and purification is extensive. The thesis evaluates and optimizes the existing rainwater utilization mode in Hangzhou from collection efficiency, economy, ecology and concluded that "purification-collection-penetration-purification-utilization " is the most suitable. The thesis further discussed the integration of water utilization and landscape design, focusing on rainwater utilization to combine with landscape elements of topography, buildings, water features and plants as well as everyday life, and security, post-maintenance and education. Finally, using the Baidanghairenjia district as an example, the thesis applied the discussed integration principles of water utilization and landscape design. This study provides a specific solution to the integration of rainwater utilization in residential districts and there landscape design. Because residentialdistricts is an important component of urban environment, this study shed lights on urban rainwater management as well.
