Abstract/Summary:
Modern tram has become the main public traffic of the small and medium-sized city since the emergence of an environmental and low-cost low-volume rail transport. Different from the traditional large capacity rail transit, most modern trams are ground laying and crossing with the urban roads. Its line station layout in intersection generally affects social vehicle traffic efficiency. Therefore, according to the optimization of tram’s line design, station and signal phase in intersection has become one of the key problems in design of the tram. The main contents and achievements of this paper are described as followed:(1) On the basis of the further research on modern tram development and research status at home and abroad, this paper analyzed the running features of motor vehicles, non-motor vehicles and modern trams in intersection, and systematically summarized the characteristics and its applicability of different railway forms, lines layout, station layout position and switch forms.(2) Through the analysis of line station layout form’s effects on traffic capacity and efficiency, some optimal design measures form line station layout and signal phase will be discussed:① Move the station to the direction of the deviation from intersection, on the security premise of not more than 20 km/h according to the relevant rules, give the trams accelerate space, improve the overall operating efficiency of the intersection.② Shrink the spacing to 3.6m at intersection, adds the entrance one driveway which width of 3.0-3.25m to increase traffic capacity.③ When there have large traffic which more than 210 per circle, the intersection need add pedestrian overpasses or underground to disperse passenger flow and improve the operation efficiency.④ Calculate optimal effective green light time of different phase according to each import road traffic based on Webster formula, and plan reasonable time of each phase to increase the capacity.(3) Take traffic delays, lane saturation, vehicle queue length as the index to build comprehensive evaluation system for intersection, using analytic hierarchy process through the judge matrix to determine the index weight, and established comprehensive evaluation model for crossing design with weighted way.(4) Taking Xinsong wisdom park intersection in Shenyang as an example, using this line station layout optimization measures for its optimization, and got the evaluation indexes before and after optimization with the aid of microscopic simulation software VISSIM. Analytic hierarchy process model is used to calculate comprehensive value, and respectively compare the comprehensive value and the capacity of the intersection before and after optimization. The efficiency can be increased by 4.2% and the traffic capacity can be increased to 8.3%.The optimization strategy of modern tram line station layout and signal phase sequence in intersection, and the comprehensive evaluation model of intersection, which put forward in this paper, has good reference value to the optimization of trams intersection design.
