As a new form of air conditioning, temperature and humidity independent control of air-conditioning systems(THIC) is becoming more and more popular for its significant energy saving advantages and good indoor thermal comfort.THIC separate the temperature system from humidity system. Depends on the different climate conditions, a variety of different forms of high temperature cold source and fresh air treatment could be used in different regions.The paper studies the application of THIC in Xi’an area. First of all, it introduces the principle of common high-temperature cold sources and fresh air dehumidification methods. The applicability of the different methods are analyzed in theory in city of Xi’an. Two schemes which are high temperature cooling source with solution desiccant and high temperature cooling source with condensation desiccant are selected ultimately.The research selects an office building in Xi’an as the object. DEST simulation software was used to simulate the air cooling load of the building. Design calculation and Energy consumption calculation of the two schemes were taken to compare the merits of the two schemes. The results shows the total energy consumption of the scheme with solution desiccant is lower than condensation desiccant scheme. The cooling program energy efficiency ratio is 3.79 which is higher than conventional air conditioning system.The theoretical analysis and energy consumption calculation of the evaporative cooling water unit in Xi’an which as the high temperature cooling source are carried out in this paper. Determine the feasibility alternate operating scheme on the evaporative cooling water unit and the mechanical refrigeration cooling unit at high temperature in Xi’an area. Calculated that the program can save 12160.35 yuan than the single mechanical refrigeration high temperature cold water unit in the entire air conditioning season.
