| Classic gardening art of China integrates architecture, literary works, philosophy and aesthetics and artistic conception produced by them is comprehensive effect of these types of arts’mutual integration as well as the ideological product of materializing gardening scenes. Artistic conception is regarded as the soul of Chinese gardens as well as the core different from other gardening systems. As the "mother of world gardens", gardens of China are different from gardens of other systems, develop their own features in history and yield unusually brilliant results just because of their pursuit, creation and appreciation of "artistic conception". However, artistic conception has been abstract all the time and its expression and interpretation are intrinsically connected with narratology. Narratology aims to present false or true complement image system and space of imagination by blending works’ emotion, situation and event. In this sense, it is different in approach but equally satisfactory in result when compared with artistic conception of gardens. In order to properly re-interpret and research artistic conceptions of gardens, especially the ones of classic gardens of China, this paper adopted forms and methods of narratology to analyze the structuring and expression of artistic conceptions of several famous classic gardens handed down for generations because of their love stories with referable interpretation ways of narratology, so as to enrich interpretations forms to artistic conceptions of classic gardens and. Therefore, it has the significance of exploring the inheritance of classic gardens’ essence.This paper mainly conducted following research:1. Isomorphic and analogy. Interpret artistic conceptions of garden with narratology, dig the design, formation and narration of story and their analogy in narration contents, arrangement and actions in narration process to present and structure plot-based space and generate three-level contents of gardens’artistic conceptions. This paper interpreted artistic conceptions of three famous classic love gardens as follows:(1) The design stage of story is a process to dig and present plots and create narration information, mainly including main narration points, forms and sequence;(2) The formation stage of story is a process to arrange narration information and structure plot-based spaces on two dimensions of narration (time and space);(3) The narration stage of story is a process to deliver narration information and create artistic conceptions of gardens, mainly including objective display, subjective narrative and interactive participation.2.Based on the narrative analysis of the artistic conception, the paper further starts from the expression tool of artistic conception, to reframe and summarize the generation mechanism of the artistic conception of the gardens in the classical love stories.The generation mechanism of the artistic conception of the garden is as follows:Or expression instruments of artistic conceptions (including material expression tools and generation tool of artistic conception) make romantic, aesthetic and loyal love story vivid and specific and then form situation. Next, with reasonable arrangement and organization of narration, scene factors after being stressed with elements, setting through re-creation and garden layout through description of pattern are summarized together and sublimated to artistic conceptions of gardens.Main research methods are:① Literature review:by reading related works and literature in library, summarize and clear up some data of narrative landscape design useful to the research. In addition, the author read some projects and data of cases in connection with the research, covering such fields as architecture, landscape, urban planning and narratology.② Field survey:the author studied the three representative famous classic love gardens of China through field survey and compilation of drawings to make the research more complete③ Case study:in addition to theoretical extraction and summary, this research placed high value on the methods of case study and giving examples to state its view.④ Multi-disciplinary:as gardening is a multidisciplinary comprehensive subject and the theories of narratology are adopted to study artistic conception of landscape and gardens, but such research cannot be separated from related subjects like literary works, design art, architecture and history. So, this paper integrated related knowledge of subjects relevant with gardens and tried to perform comprehensive and deep research on the topic from multiple perspectives, multiple aspects and multiple levels.Innovative points of this paper mainly include:①With related methods and theories of narratology as well as isomorphic and analogy, this paper interpreted the artistic conceptions of the three famous classic love gardens from the perspective of narratology so as to enrich interpretation forms of gardens’ artistic conceptions, based on which clear up and summarize the generation process of gardens’ artistic conceptions.②This paper selected several famous classic love gardens handed down for generations because of their love stories as the research objects to enrich the research and focus on such type of gardens. |
