With society’s progress and the development of science and technology, the product performance and quality put forward higher requirements. The quality of products is largely determined by the design phase, it puts forward higher requirements on product design. The advent of CAE provides technical means for improving the quality of product design. Along with the increase in demand for CAE system, which becoming more and more powerful in function, at the same time, the demand is higher and higher to the tech. In order to use CAE software in product design, the user should master not only the domain knowledge of the product, but also the knowledge of CAE and the operation of the software. It’s no doubt that a great challenge to the small and medium-sized enterprises that lack of talent. Therefore, in order to improve enterprise efficiency of the use of CAE technology and deepen application of this technology, the paper put forward solutions on simplifying the operation process of simulation analysis and unified management of simulation data which aimed at the difficulties when using CAE technology, combining with the national science and technology support project.In this paper, the main research goal is optimizing the operation process of CAE software by the analysis and design of an information system that support the simulation process, therefore, it carried out the following research:firstly, analyzing the characteristics of product design based on the simulation, researching connotation and inherent relevance in each of the product domain and simulation domain of simulation design. Secondly, the structure elements of product and model elements of simulation were analyzed, and researching their similarities and differences and the feasibility of the mapping relationship, moreover, designing three kinds method of mapping. Thirdly, based on CAE simulation application writed by parametric design language, designing application interfaces, which make the system convert design parameters into interface content by mapping and call the simulation services so that optimize the operation. Finally, designed and developed the product design system based on simulation, which is comprehensively expounded from the analysis of user requirement, the design of system architecture, function module division to data model designing, also the implementation process of its key functional modules, including product simulation design project management module and parameters mapping management module, in addition, taked axial-flow fan for instance object to show the system operation and operation process.
