The vehicle traveling data recorder is a kind of instrument which is used to record the data of automobile after starting. The recorded data can be used to restore the driving state of the vehicle, which reflects the use situation of the vehicle. When an accident occurs, the recorded data can be used as a kind of evidence to help law enforcement to analyze and define the cause of the accident. In view of the above, in this paper, I study and design a vehicle traveling data recorder scheme which is based on Infineon XC2785 microcontroller and embedded real-time operating system Free RTOS.First of all, this paper analyzes the background and significance of the development and application of the vehicle recorder. This paper describes the origin and the social significance of the early vehicle recorder, and the research efforts at home and abroad in recent years.Second, this paper designs the overall framework of the vehicle traveling data recorder, introduces the overall design ideas of the system, and forms the analysis and planning of the hardware level of the vehicle traveling data recorder system. From single chip selection and its programming, simulation to the system power module, peripheral data acquisition equipment, the use of the system communication circuit, all is analyzed in detail.Third, this paper designs the software system, and completes the design of the Free RTOS’s transplantation and task scheduling scheme. Among them, the Free RTOS transplantation part analyzes the files needed for Free RTOS kernel, as well as the configuration of the compiler to make the Free RTOS work in the XC2785 microcontroller. The task scheduling part analyzes the system functions to be realized, as well as the logical sequence of these functions.Last, this paper studies the method of data processing. After extracting and integrating the data acquired by the data acquisition equipment, according to the data type and the data characteristics, the data is packaged and stored. For example, the sampling frequency of the yaw velocity and lateral acceleration is higher than the frequency of storage, so after the acquisition they can through the neural network model in MCU calculate out the driver’s steering wheel angle. When the processor detects the signal for data uploading, then uploads the data. In the PC side, users can receive and save data through upper computer.
