Vehicle Traveling Data Recorder

A vehicle traveling data recorder is a data collecting device whose theory comes from black box. It can record vehicles' traveling information in a real-time manner on which a special software can base to reconstruct vehicles' status. The traveling data recorded by recorder, such as velocity, driving time, etc, provides an important evidence for the analysis of traffic accidents. A vehicle traveling data recorder can keep within limits of fatigue driving and excessive speed. Moreover it also can combine Global Positioning System (GPS) and Geographical Information System (GIS) to record and inspect vehicles' status.This thesis summarizes the research status of the vehicle traveling data recorder and brings forward a detached structure of the recorder. The theory and functions of the vehicle traveling data recorder are introduced. According to the functions of the vehicle traveling data recorder, the paper selects some primary components and designs circuits of hardware system which includes a data acquisition module, a data storage module, a display module, a communication module, etc. According to the hardware system, the software system is also built in this paper, such as a data acquisition program, a data storage program, a display program, a communication program, etc. The Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) and the reliability of reset circuits are analyzed in this paper and some relevant measures are adopted to improve the reliabilities of the vehicle traveling data recorder. A simulation experiment is conducted to validate the design's rationality and the reliability of the recorder.
