At the same time,realizing the research of urban coastal landscape planning and design developed gradually from the practice into scientific theory, planning methods and design concepts. The study has been slowly to dabble aspects of economic, ecological environment and the laws which is relative. Analyzing the major elements of the coastal landscape resources landscape, such as topography, climate, water, biological phenomena, cultural relics to clear them as unique coastal landscape resources. At the same time, compare the urban coastal landscape and other shore water landscape in aspect of water body and the space layout using comparison analysis method tosummarize the characteristics of the urban coastal landscape belt at home as follow. It has characteristics of rich and unique landscape resources with an open space to fuse to the diversity of the dominant space. It is of strong directional and identification, ecosystem vulnerability, the huge economic value and development prospects while management ownership of unknown accuracy.On-the-spot investigation method was used to investigate the urban coastal landscape belt of the city of Rizhao,Qingdao,Weihai and Yantai in ShanDong Province. Summarizing that it generally exist issues such as irrational using of landscape resources, deterioration of ecological environment of the coastal zone, complexment of the coastal land ownership, the scope of responsibility defining fuzzy, chaotic management, similarity in coastal landscape, the lack of local characteristics through analyzing the layout of planning and the characteristics of landscape. Taking Baltimore’s inner harbor and Yokohama, Japan MM21 project as example, analyze the planning methods and characteristics of foreign outstanding urban coastal landscape. Through the analysis and research of domestic and foreign urban coastal landscape belt, summed up the important designing points of characteristic districts and landscape elements of urban coastal landscape belt.Take general principle and technique of urban coastal landscape planning and design as the foundation, summed up that Chinese urban coastal landscape should pay attention to use the on axis design, spatial correlation, proportion and scale, diversity and unity, regional characteristics during the process of planning and design combined with the particularity of the coastal ecological environment.Apply the planning and design principles and techniques which is summaried before to complete the planning and design of urban coastal landscape of Yantai Kaifa area. The urban coastal landscape belt planning and design of Yantai Kaifa area determine the design theme of’ecology, recreation, colorful",with "one axis, two belts and five districts" as the overall layout according to the current situation of Yantai Kaifa area.The coastal landscape was divided into five functional area which contains cultural district, commercial catering and leisure area, forest slow recreation area, beach area and coastal wetland protection area while setting with coastal slow forest system and slow system which own coastal features and recreational functions.It follows the principle of he overall coordination, ecological, geographical characteristics, sustainable development and humanized during planning anddesign.I payed more attention to the design of road traffic, vertical, architectural sketch, plant planning. I integrated the ocean elements and colorful local culture into the main scenery spot planning and design which is contained of the colorful cultural square, the music dance in the fountain square, the center square of golden sand beach, hippocampus rest space, dune square, and sail square.
