| With the development of society, people pursuit higher spiritual quality. As the transition field of the square, square flexible boundary can lead people’s psychological needs of entering the square space, which embodies the quality requirements of a square. In the design field of contemporary urban square, boundary treatment is often ignored, and is lacking of practical significance of the expression of the boundary, leading to the convergence boundary and spatial chaos the appearance of blind area or uncoordinated boundary space. Therefore, there is an urgent need for the design and research of the flexible boundary of the square.Starting with the design of flexible boundary of city square, this paper puts forward the concept of flexible boundary of city square, and presents the introduction of urban square boundary from the perspective of flexible concept. Using the theory and case study method, this paper systematically analyze the flexible boundary of city square, and concludes the main idea that the flexible boundary is more suitable for the square boundary. On the basis of this, this paper also put forward the design methodology of the flexible boundary of the square in different forms. Secondly, the flexible boundary of the square is discussed, and the design method of the flexible boundary of the square is summed up. Finally, combining with the design method proposed in this paper, this paper does design and research on the grand Eurasian Sunken Plaza to achieve the combination of theory and practice. Moreover, the authenticity and feasibility of the design method is tested by the actual case, and the content of the design of the flexible boundary of the square is added.The design of square flexible boundary put forward in this paper is a relatively new and abstract concept. Through the analysis of the flexible design methods of different types of boundary forms, the design of the square boundary will achieve the spatial effect of mutual balance of open and closed, infiltration and occlusion. Research on city square boundary is not only supplement and development of the city square design theory, but also is integrated the practical significance of urban open space and landscape. |
