Since the 21 st century,the development of traditional colleges and universities in China has become more and more open and diversified,presenting the development trend of closed or semi-closed traditional campuses,which are blocked by internal and external exchanges.They have gradually accelerated their own open and diversified development,and begun to open more to the society,share with the public,and gradually tend to the transformation of urban universities.In addition to the benefits that City-based universities bring to university campuses,some problems can not be ignored.The close interaction between the two brings about the intervention of the campus environment: the chaotic interference of traffic flow,the breaking of the sacred and tranquil atmosphere of teaching space,the management of security issues,and a series of cities and campuses blending together to produce negative effects on each other.University campus urbanization is no longer a new topic in foreign countries,but in China,facing more complex urban structure,larger urban population composition,richer urban map and intricate traffic network,it is only in a small part of the trial stage,which urgently needs relevant theoretical support and methodological guidance.This paper explores the open relationship between cities and universities,focusing on the construction of boundary space design.This paper analyses and studies some urban university campuses at home and abroad,summarizes the characteristics of their spatial types under the specific urban proposition,and puts forward the design method of boundary space under this background.The core is to create a more suitable learning space atmosphere through a good boundary design between cities and campuses,and to provide certain design method reference and guidance for the future urbanization transformation of more universities.This paper tries to provide some references and references for the placement of learning space in urban universities,aiming at balancing urban life and learning atmosphere,creating a more suitable teaching environment for students’ learning and communication and a friendly and pleasant city boundary space.The study is divided into five chapters.The first chapter explains the background,purpose and significance of the study,combs the existing research context,and defines the scope and object of the study.In the second chapter,the concepts involved in the boundary space of city-type universities and their demands in the face of the development of the times aredescribed in order to provide a relatively macro research basis for the follow-up study of the relationship.Chapter 3 studies the interaction mode and relationship between city environment and universities from the perspective of boundary,describes the basic macro boundary types,and describes the learning space boundary based on human perception,which is the source of Chapter 4 boundary design method.Chapter IV,based on the relationship research,puts forward several design methods to deal with the contradiction between city and learning space boundaries,which are divided into two types: definite and uncertain boundaries,the principle of biasing internal and external order,the principle of fuzzy design,and the specific design strategies under the principle,which are explained by a large number of domestic and foreign urban university cases.Chapter 5 chooses two representative examples of city universities and boundary learning space,Hunan University Graduate School Building and City University of Hong Kong Liu Mingwei Academic Building.The application of boundary design method in both of them is to create a real integration of quiet and order in the hustle and bustle,so as to illustrate the integration application of boundary design method and verify the application significance of boundary design method.
