Project management is a subject which can be widely applied, and it can be discussed from a variety of perspectives. This article starts from the view of the project schedule planning, implementation and control.According to the actual situation of the project, the project management of Tengtai machinery factory air conditioning system engineering is selected as the research object. This paper uses the theory and method of project schedule management, takes the construction progress of Tengtai air conditioning engineering machinery factory into account and demonstrates the process and method of how to use control and schedule management of project management scientifically in engineering practice.In the first part of this paper, the research background and significance of the paper and the project management theory and methods used in Tengtai machinery factory air conditioning project schedule plan and control are simply introduced. The second part introduces the status and influence of Tengtai machinery factory air conditioning project the project schedule. In the third part, how to ensure the implementation of the project schedule is discussed. Based on the relavant approaches of progress management, methods like work breakdown structure, the determination of the logical relationship among works, the preparation of the network diagram, the choice of the key path are applied taking the Tengtai machinery factory air conditioning engineering project schedule into account. The execution and control of Tengtai machinery factory air conditioning engineering project schedule are analyzed in the fourth part. On this basis conclusions are drawn as follows:(1)To ensure the project schedule smoothly, the scope of work must be clear to prevent growing scope of the project work; this requires to clarify the contents and responsibilities when signing the contract.(2) The principles and methods of project schedule management must be followed.After the project schedule proposed, procedures which directly affact the working time of each activity in the critical path should be clarified. Therefore, during the process of the project, we need to focus on the operation of key activities. In order to speed up the progress of the project, working time of key nodes should be squeezed. On the contrary, the extension of the key activities will obviously result in a delay in the schedule.(3) The implementation of the project schedule needs to be carried out according to a certain plan. Actually, the execution of project schedule plan is a detailed construction work plan, in which certain adjustment based on scientific approach is essential in practical work. In the adjusting process, seeking truth from facts is the fundamental, solving the problem is the purpose and ensuring the progress of the project is the goal, with actively communicating with related parties.(4) The project schedule control is carried out in three stages: pre, middle and late stages. Different stages have different characteristics, and also contacts with each other. This control is a dynamic process, also needs to be controlled at any time.In a word, developing schedule and controlling progress scientifically, reducing the uncertainties in the project and ensuring the quality of the project and completing the project on time in a certain budget are advantageous to improve the market competition ability of engineering enterprises and improve the management of engineering enterprises. This paper takes the Tengtai machinery factory air conditioning engineering as the research object, combines with schedule development, schedule execution and progress control method in project management, and provides an important basis for project schedule management, which it is of great importance for other projects.
