Research On The Rationalization Design Of "Urban Village" Reconstruction In Kunming

Along With the fast development of our country, the pace urbanization becomes fast. As the capital city of Yunnan Province, Kunming’s urbanization speed is even significant. In the process of promoting urbanization, dealing with the issue of "urban village" is inevitable. As the project of transforming "urban village" is moving forward, designing the resettlement house of "urban village" residents becomes increasingly important. It is an very necessary for improving the living quality of "urban village" residents, proper use of "urban village" land and harmonious development of the city. But the reality in Kunming now is, that the design of "urban village" resettlement houses is just to satisfy the requirement of the government in quantity. Also construction proposals are passed under the provisions of government policy, very few people pay attention to the needs of "urban village" residents towards resettlement houses, nor their living situations after resettlement. How to design the constructions that are suitable for the special group of "urban village" residents, and how to make the life of "urban village" residents sustainable and satisfactory, are very urgent issues.Why is the project of transforming "urban village" resettlement houses so difficult to put forward? What are the needs of the original "urban village" residents towards their residence? What is their desirable residence? With those three questions and one actual project of transforming "urban village" in Kunming, this research report aims to analysis the population composition, economic income, residence space requirements, surrounding ancillary facility needs of resettlement residents, the change of their family composition after removal, and their evaluations over the using space of accomplished project. Also this report analysises and concludes the current designing situation and problems of resettlement residences in the project of transforming "urban village in Kunming, put forward some new design strategies, and searches for some new ideas over this issue.
