Research On Public Arts Of Metro Space Based On Spirit Of Place

With the appearance of metro in the world,the culture of metro was born at that monment.It carries a city ’ s regional flavour,culture connotations and national consciousness in a way,at the same time,maked with specific art forms arranged for stations of each line.The metro construction in our country later than foreign countries,so many problems about the public arts of metro space still exist such as relative curing of creative thinking,deficienency of building places’ sence affecting that passengers staying and appreciating difficultly in advance to some extent.How to design the public arts of metro space is very important which could arouse sympathy with persons and intergrating into surroundings.The thesis was divided into five chapters which based on spirit of place and the public art theories.Clarifying the existing issues at present in our country by analyzing public arts of metro space differences at home and aborad.In the form of methodology,doing the research of the core characteristics according to the spirit of place.In view of the public art elements of the metro space,using the analytic hierarchy process(AHP) to analysis the importance of each factor and link,and find out the focus.On this basis to explore the method of the public art design,which shows the place spirit of underground space.According to field reserching part of NanJing metro stations,summarizing results and finding deficienency.Selecting with metro line U1 in Munich,metro line2 in SuZhou and metro line7 in BeiJing to analysis,exploring revelations from three examples.Then,putting forward suggestions to the future public arts of metro space through Genius Loci basis.Finally,expecting creations on the public arts of metro space’s new look.
